Q&A
-
Is there a trial version available?
-
Yes - just get in touch with us and we will set you up
-
-
Can I modify esteel to suit my specific company needs or am I stuck with a generic application?
-
The system settings personalise eSteel to suit your business but functionality is “standard”
-
Data can be filtered and exported to gain individual reports when the standard reports do not suit.
-
-
Who can gain access to my information?
-
Anyone you provide a username and password to – that’s it.
-
-
I'd like all my staff to have access to eSteel. Can I restrict access to certain areas?
-
Yes
-
You can restrict users to "view only"
-
Only authorised users can create Purchase Orders
-
Restricted users can only view the mobile version even when viewing on a PC
-
-
What can be expected in future development?
-
Direct syncing with detailing software so that importing of assemblies and parts is no longer required (not that it takes long!)
-
Esteel is a web-based application so integration with other systems becomes possible though the use of API (Application Programming Interface)
-
-
Where is my data stored?
-
Amazon Web Services (AWS) - the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally.
-
-
Can I save the data on my business server?
-
Many devices (eg: a NAS) will have built in features to sync with your data stored in the cloud and can be set up for little or no cost
-
Syncing with other cloud based storage facilities is also possible using a cloud sync tool (eg: CloudHQ)
-
-
It’s great that we can view the assembly and part drawings but what about the GA’s, purlins and reports?
-
Any other document that you store in the project folder will be accessible via the File Browser.
-
-
Do I need any new hardware or software?
-
Esteel is web based so no new hardware is required
-
Esteel is accessible through any web browser – no new software is installed on your computer(s).
-
-
How will I get any updates?
-
Being web based any updates are done automatically (obviously we will tell you when we plan to do this and what changes we are making).
